Keyvan Mohajer
Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Keyvan is the Chief Executive Officer of Melodis Corporation. Keyvan is responsible for Melodis' day-to-day operations, expanding and entertaining business opportunities. Keyvan is also the principal executive responsible for Melodis' technology development. His expertise in signal processing, algorithm design, statistics and Internet technology have resulted in the invention of revolutionary technologies since Melodis' formation. Keyvan's strong technical background and extensive business experience provide a unique value to Melodis.
Prior to Melodis, Keyvan was involved in the creation and growth of over 20 technology companies in the United States and Canada in various capacities. He remains an advisor or board member to many of these companies today.
Keyvan has a Master's and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering from University of Toronto.
Majid Emami

Founder & Vice President, Engineering

Majid is the Vice President of Engineering of Melodis Corporation. Majid is responsible for managing Melodis' technological development and the day-to-day operation of the Melodis Lab. Majid has extensive experience and knowledge in the fields of signal processing and information theory. He is one of the leading inventors of the Melodis audio recognition engine, where he contributed both to the signal processing front-end and the algorithmic back-end.
Prior to Melodis, Majid served as a key technology advisor to a number of companies in Silicon Valley. Majid has a Bachelors of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering from University of Toronto, and a Master's and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. His research interests include music and audio signal processing, speech recognition, database optimization and search algorithms
Michal Grabowski

Founder & Chief Technical Officer

Mike is the Chief Technical Officer of Melodis Corporation. He currently manages the day-to-day operation of the Melodis Lab, overlooking a team of scientists, researchers and engineers. Mike is responsible for most of Melodis' innovations and inventions in algorithm design and optimization. In the early days of the company, he was able to speed up the first version of the Melodis audio recognition engine by a factor of one million.
After completing his freshman year at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Mike transferred to Stanford University where he met James Hom, Keyvan Mohajer and Majid Emami. Mike and James teamed up as finalists of the I-challenge competition at Stanford in 2002 where they wrote a business plan on an idea that contributed to the formation of Melodis.
Mike has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Stanford University.
James Hom

James Hom
Founder & Vice President, Products & Chief Financial Officer

James is the Vice President of Products and acting Chief Financial Officer of Melodis Corporation. As Vice President of Products, James is responsible for managing all of Melodis' product development efforts. As acting Chief Financial Officer, James is responsible for overseeing all finance and accounting operations of Melodis.
While he was at the department of computer science at Stanford University, James worked with Keyvan Mohajer in an electronic laboratory, where they also shared their business and technology ideas. At the same time, James was working with Mike Grabowski on a business plan and participating in the Stanford I-Challenge competition. Nearly two years later in 2004, their ideas, business plan and technologies joined forces and Melodis was formed.
James has extensive knowledge and experience in product design, development and testing. His interests focus on database design and clustering, human computer interaction, accounting and finance. He has a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science from Stanford University and is a member of Phi Kappa Psi.
Amir Arbabi

Vice President, Business Development

Amir is the Vice President of Business Development of Melodis Corporation. As Vice President of Business Development, Amir is directly responsible for corporate strategy, overall expansion, developing and expanding new business opportunities and strategic partnerships, forming and managing strategic alliances and business modeling. Amir also plays a leading role in maintaining Melodis' day-to-day operations.
Amir has many years of experience working directly with both emerging growth and later stage companies across a number of industries. His rich background adds great depth to the Melodis management team. Prior to Melodis, Amir was a senior corporate lawyer at Venture Law Group where he represented numerous companies and venture capital firms in all aspects of corporate governance and business operations, private and public equity and debt financings, mergers and acquisitions, employment matters and intellectual property.
Amir has a B.A. in Economics from Stanford University where he graduated with University Distinction in just over 2 years and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. Amir is a member of various organizations including Phi Beta Kappa, Omicron Delta Epsilon, the American Bar Association and the State Bar of California.
A native of the Bay Area, Amir is also an accomplished musician. He has given many performances on his primary musical instrument, the Santoor, and has received a number of awards and recognition from world-famous musicians for his accomplishments.
Kamyar Mohajer

Vice President, Intellectual Property, Strategy and Planning

Kamyar is the Vice President of Intellectual Property, Strategy and Planning at Melodis Corporation.  As Vice President of Intellectual Property, Kamyar is responsible for developing Melodis' IP strategy, including the identification and protection of the numerous inventions and innovations developed by Melodis. As Vice President of Strategy and Planning, Kamyar is responsible for developing strategies for Melodis’ operations and expansion, as well as evaluating and forming business partnerships.  
Prior to his position at Melodis, Kamyar practiced as a corporate and commercial attorney at a reputable law firm in Toronto, Canada, working on complex commercial transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, share and asset purchases and sales, corporate financing, and security agreements. Kamyar is also an accomplished scholar in intellectual property law and has been granted a number of awards for his achievements in the fields of patent and copyright law.
Kamyar has a multi-disciplinary background. After completing a Bachelors degree in Computer Science and a Bachelors degree in Music at York University, Toronto, Kamyar completed his graduate education in law at Osgoode Hall Law School, Toronto, and obtained his M.B.A. from Schulich School of Business, Toronto.
Kamyar is also a composer and a concert pianist. He has performed piano in numerous solo recitals and competitions, and acted as the director of various chamber music ensembles.
